Versatility

Shopping is fun but what to buy and what not is always a dilemma. Buying different clothes for different occasions can cost a lot. So why not buy something which you can style in different ways creating a new look each time. Whenever you buy a new piece, just think of how can you style that piece in different ways and if you can think of 2-3 looks, then that is what you need to buy.

I have created four looks with one dress. A buttoned black dress from Zara which I got at a very reasonable price as it was on sale. It has floral print all over the dress in white, brown and red colour.

Firstly, I styled the dress for a night event in my college fest. Contrasting with the black dress, I wore my red high heels with it along with a bit of makeup and open straight hair. I feel overall it looked great and made me feel confident. You can even add a pair of statement earrings to it.

The next look is exactly opposite to the first look, I created an Indian look with the same dress. I wore my black leggings with it and kept only half of the buttons closed. Completing the look, I wore punjabi juttis with it adding that ethnic feel to the look; you can also wear kohlapuri chappals or even ballerinas with it. I have kept it simple but it can also be styled with a dupatta or a stole. You can also add an ethnic jacket to it with a pair of jhumkas.

Next is a day look, I created a cool and funky look with the dress. This look can be worn to any day event whether it be a day with friends or family, adding a pair of heels will make you ready for a party too. Wearing a pair of ripped jeans with buttons of the dress closed till my waist and hair tied in a ponytail. I chose to wear my maroon coloured Oxford shoes with the bottom of the jeans folded, adding that pop of colour to the look. You can wear any other coloured sneakers with it or even heels would look great.

The last look is a semi formal one, wearing my nude coloured peep toe low heels with the dress. You can also wear black heels, trying avoiding high heels and other coloured heels. Adding a waistcoat or a blazer will make it more formal.
