Shrug it up !!
I love my dresses and wish to wear them repeatedly. But what to do when you have worn them almost everywhere, so why not style them in a way that they look different each time. The best way to do so, is to wear a shrug over. Shrugs are the best to revamp your old dress or even a top, to add that pop of colour, making your dress versatile. I have styled my dresses with a few shrugs creating different looks.
In my first look, I wore my orange dress with a loose off-white shrug paired with white sneakers. This look is great for a day-out or a brunch or an evening plan with friends. The look is comfortable as well as stylish. I chose a mini backpack to complete the look, you can go for a sling bag too. Also, you can wear ballerinas or gladiators with this cool, comfy look.
In my second look, I wore the same orange dress but with a golden shrug. The shrug has embroidery and sequence all over it, adding that bling to the look. I paired the look with golden heels that has sparkle over it. This look is apt for a party or event, you can add a pair of earrings and even a clutch.
The third look is a formal look, created by adding a shrug (waistcoat) to the same dress. I chose to wear black low heels as they compliment the waistcoat. You can go for nude or even brown heels, avoid high heels and bright coloured heels. To complete the look, I used a peach coloured handbag as it goes well with dress, you can style it with any handbag or totebag (try to avoid backpacks and small sized bags like clutch or sling bags); you can also add a pair of studs.
Next, I wore a plum coloured dress with a white sheer long shrug, completely changing the look of the dress. This dress can be worn for any day event. I wore the same white sneakers along with the mini backpack to complete the look, ballerinas or gladiators would also look great.
Lastly, I wore the same dress with a violet shrug. As the colour of the dress and the shrug are almost similar, I wore tan coloured moccasins, adding that contrast to the look. You can wear any coloured footwear to complete the look.
All of these shrugs can be worn on both the dresses, except the white long shrug as it is a straight fit and so it would not look good on an a-line or fit and flare dresses. A woollen shrug can also be worn during winters.
Wow!! To make you shine brighter.

DeleteHey there! Being a blogger i presume you know about the term product upcycling. Repeating dresses with different kind of shrug doesn't sound cool, at all.I will suggest you to experiment with your dresses.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment. You can’t always buy new dresses so it was just a way in which you can wear your dresses again creating different looks. I’ll surely try experimenting with my dresses.
DeleteNow this is a good use of shrugs. Surely something worth trying. A small advice for the future, take some more photos that highlight the clothes from different angles.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I’ll surely do that.
DeleteHey! You must be knowing this fact that people get influenced by the style statement of bloggers and in your recent post you wore an orange dress with a black shrug and i don't think it's anywhere a formal apparel. So better be careful with your choice. And you should definitely try something with shirts for formal events they will look great on you!
ReplyDelete- Well wisher!
Thank you for the comment. It was just an attempt on how same dress with a shrug can be transformed into a formal look. I’ll surely try something with shirts.
